Zoning Building & Code
The Borough of Lehighton contracts with Barry Isett and Associates for third party administration of our Zoning, Building and Code Enforcement Programs. The department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of local ordinances along with Federal and State building codes. These ordinances may be specific to building, zoning, land development, housing and property maintenance.
The Department also responds to citizen complaints concerning property maintenance, construction project inspections, curb/sidewalk inspections, applications regarding building projects, zoning hearings and land development. Permits are issued for Use and Occupancy, repairs, replacements, additions and new installations. In 2021, Barry Isett and Associates was also contracted to complete the Annual Health Inspections.
The Department works closely with the Police Department, Fire Department, Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board and Borough Engineer. We seek resolution and compliance of health and safety issues.
Zoning Office Hours
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm*
- Thursday by Appointment
*The zoning officer conducts inspections and responds to complaints around the Borough during normal office hours. An appointment to see the zoning officer is highly recommended, as there is no guarantee they will be inside the Borough Office when you arrive.
