Grant to be used for construction of hydroelectric plant

State Sen. John Yudichak (D-14) and state Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-122) have announced a $5.5 million grant for the Borough of Lehighton for the construction of a hydroelectric plant at the Beltzville Dam.

Lehighton firefighters are a step closer to fulfilling a dream of having safer, more spacious, and more modern facilities.

Street Sweeping

     The Borough of Lehighton will be
     street sweeping every Wednesday
     on 1st Street beginning
     March 6, 2013 until
     November 27, 2013. 1st Street
     is posted with signs stating times
     street sweeping will occur. The
     rest of the borough will have
     orange "No Parking" signs posted
     as we go from street to street.
     One side of the street will be
     posted at a time.
     
     Residents are asked to move
     their cars across the street
     or another street until the
     posted side of the street
     has been swept. Signs will
     then be moved to the opposite
     side of the street for the
     following day.

Property Maintenance Board,
    Vacancy Board, Zoning Hearing
    Board, & the Police Civil
    Service Commision Seats Open

    There is currently vacancies
    on the Property Maintenance
    Board, Vacancy Board, Zoning
    Hearing Board, & 2 on the Police
    Civil Service Commision.

    Letters of interest can be
    submitted in the Borough
    Secretary's office.
